I’ve always been inspired by what great athletes did to develop and become great.  I was a baseball player, and when I was 13 or 14 I loved reading the autobiographies of greats like Ted Williams, Willie Mays, Mikey Mantle, etc.  The best part of the book to me was reading about what they did in their early years of development –  I always found that part to be the most inspiring.  Still feel that way today, watching something like a young Dmitry Klokov as he started his weightlifting career.
